2 days before the attack. It was almost my birthday and no one really cared. But at least I did because I bought a new……. AHHH! HELP! KATIE! HELP! “Mom what’s wrong?” “HES BITING ME!” My mom screamed out in pain. I said “hey what the hell are you doing?” “MMMMM…..” SLURP! CHOMP! SNAP! CHOMP! “WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING ON MY MOM?!” As soon as that….. thing gave up interest of my mom’s leg, it came straight towards me. I mean like bolting towards me like he was a famous track star or something. I had to act fast so I could save my mom. So finally I saw something shiny with a sharp blade. I grabbed it and took this blade, threw it between his eyes, suddenly he dropped like a crow had gotten shot by a AK74 machine gun.

“Mom are you okay?” “Yes dear, I’m fine”, she said in soft plain tears. “Let me take you to the hospital, and see what the doctors could do.” I said in a panic. “Can you at least make it the the car?” “I don’t know, I’ll try.”

As soon as they got to the hospital they rushed through the doors and started to scream. HELP! HELP! MY MOM IS IN PAIN! One of the doctors came up and grabbed her, then tossed her up on the trolley bed. 5 seconds later another doctor grabbed my arm and said “Come with us and you can stay by her side at all times.” She said politely.

The doctor said, “So what happened exactly?” I said, “Umm… I was upstairs then I heard my mom yelling and screaming my name out. Then, there there was a man on top of her leg chewing it up. And it started gushing up lots of blood.” “Well now ya’ll both are safe in our hands.”

Hours later that morning, the doctors came out and told me that they had to dislocate her leg and maybe have to put a robotic leg, and attach it to her so see could walk again. I said well okay but how long do you think the procedure would take?n”I’m not sure but we are trying our best to help her. You two can stay here tonight if ya’ll would like so that we could help you if something bad happens.” Okay, can I see her now? “Yes but you probably won’t because they are attaching the robotic leg on.”

After that night I heard something banging on the door. But I didn’t go up to it because I was still exhausted from yesterday. When, I told the doctors they told me “To never go towards the door because before the TV’s shutdown, theu told us that there was a type of disease carried around her in New Jersey.

What will happen Next?

Follow the sycamore trees to the Olsen Homestead, whistle three times. The conductor will take the package. Don’t tell a soul.

FROM PEANUT…Sad. I’m glad slavery is no more. To be beat for any reason is really sad. To watch someone be beat is just as bad. I’m so glad that David helped Jenkins escape his Pa’s mean ways.

FROM MOM…Excellent book that brings up the topic of the cruel slavery ways of yesterday. Not only can you talk about slavery but you can talk about helping others, and alcohol abuse. I recommend parents read this book WITH their children as there will surely be plenty of questions to follow. At first my son started to read it alone and came back to me real sad because the story felt so real to him. That’s when I realized we should have read it together.

FROM LADYBUG…I liked how this book felt like I was reading an adventure after Keiko fell off the truck and wandered through the forest meeting all the different animals. I was sad to see how the book ended because I was hoping Cody would have taken Keiko back to the zoo or brought him home.

FROM PEANUT…I thought the story was about how it was OK not to be like others. That’s cool. It’s cool to be different so you can stand out. I thought it was a great book and I liked the pictures.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR…Jill Ann Storti enjoys writing and spending time with her family. She shares her life with her husband and their son, in Greenville, SC. As a mother of a child born 10 ½ weeks premature, Jill has immersed herself in issues related to child development. The same year her son was born, Jill took on a Chair position for the annual March of Dimes Black Tie event. Her family was honored to be the Ambassador Family, which gave her the opportunity to share her story. Today, Jill volunteers for the March of Dimes to further their mission of reducing the incidence of premature child births and promoting healthy babies. FROM THE MOM OF THE BOOKSNATCHER KIDS…Maryann B. Sawka is like the modern Emily Post for the young when it comes to table manners. She talks about what to do and what not to do while at the table, how to set a table, and even how to eat properly at the table. While I wouldn’t say this was a thrilling and entertaining read for bedtime, it still is a good book to share with kids (or maybe even those annoying ill-mannered relatives of yours).

FROM PEANUT…I LOVE Pete the Cat – I Love My White Shoes. Got to listen to it today in reading camp (I’m tracked out of regular year round school right now). He’s a cool cat. The author wrote this book to tell you that if something bad or sad or anything else happens to you, just keep on walking and flow with life with a smile on your face by “singing your song”. PEANUT’S THOUGHTS…I liked Tumbleweed Christmas and how Jackie didn’t just think of herself during Christmas. She wanted to make her family and even her friend Daniel happy. I can relate to this story. Sometimes we have to get creative. Besides, Christmas is about giving to others, not just for receiving. At least that’s what mom says. I even made a board game for school and shared the story with my class. And you know what? I got a 3 out of 4 grade for my reader’s wheel project. Cool!

I got a copy of the book to read and tell you what I thought. I was not bribed with money so I could buy some new toys but still I told you what I thought because I think you should know. LITTLEONE’S THOUGHTS… My favorite part was the playhouse but I was sad that the girls didn’t play house together. They didn’t play together because they wanted to play different things. The mom said they should try to do things together but still do what they wanted. That’s called compromise. I have to do that sometimes at school and home with my brother and sissy.

I liked the book and the girls looked so cute. I’m taking the book to school to share with my class.
